Tara Whaley

CrossFit Level One Trainer, Co-Owner

I have been doing CrossFit for almost five years. I was immediately hooked from the day I walked in CrossFit Wilson. The challenge of trying to get better every day and do things you weren’t able to do the day before was my drive. The people and the coaches quickly became the reason I wanted to come every day.

I competed in sports pretty much my whole life up through college. Once I started to sit behind a desk the weight started to come on and I began my rollercoaster ride. I hated the way I would feel and would try and find something that was quick and easy to get the weight off. I was so out of shape trying to play in different sports leagues in an attempt to stay active. In January 2010 I was at my heaviest weight four years post baby. I joined Weight Watchers and was able to take off 35 pounds. My reasons for wanting to lose weight were not for a lifelong change. I was doing it to look a certain way for a certain trip. Once I found CrossFit and my true why, I have been more successful in this journey and want to help others in theirs.

CrossFit has become an outlet to do that and I am so excited to meet new people and build a community that supports one another. A journey to truly change your life and make health and fitness a lifestyle is not easy and takes a lot of discipline and support. We want to be that support for anyone willing to put the discipline in. Both Jay and I have walked through many struggles trying to find a healthy lifestyle and we want to share what we have learned along the way.
